Meal prep help for the week ahead

Near to You helps you find food professionals for hands-on meal prep. Describe the food you want prepared, where the work will happen and who supplies groceries, then discuss a practical plan with a provider before making any commitment.

What a meal-prep visit can cover

A visit might focus on cooking several family dinners, preparing lunches to portion into containers, or doing a batch of components to finish later. Decide which meals matter most, how many people will eat them and whether you expect cooking, portioning or cleanup. The result depends on the scope agreed with the individual provider; a listing is a starting point for a conversation, not a standardized menu.

Start with meals and usable portions

For example, you might request weekday lunches for two adults using rice, roasted vegetables and a protein, plus a separate dinner base. State the number of portions, foods to avoid for ordinary preferences, and whether you need containers or refrigerator space. A provider can respond with what is feasible in the time available; you can then refine the menu and quantities rather than assuming an inquiry automatically includes groceries or storage supplies.

Make the kitchen and groceries clear

Tell the provider whether your kitchen is fully equipped, limited or unavailable, which equipment is on hand and what they would need to bring. In the RFQ, choose whether you plan to supply groceries, ask the provider to supply them or want to discuss it. Note your cleanup expectation and any setup needs. Confirm ingredient purchasing, storage, food-handling arrangements and cleanup directly before work starts.

Request one visit, even if you prefer a weekly routine

The weekly meal prep RFQ template asks for a future start, duration, city, state, ZIP, number of eaters, budget, requested staffing and request details. It also accepts a recurrence preference, such as a preferred weekday. That preference is for discussion only: posting the RFQ requests one visit and does not set up a recurring booking, nutrition plan or subscription. Do not include a street address or private health details in the public request.

What happens after you post

Matching providers with approved listings may respond with nonbinding estimates and proposed staffing and grocery arrangements. Review each response, ask questions and compare what is and is not included. Selecting a response creates a booking request, not a confirmed service or payment. A provider still needs to send a final quote and terms, and confirmation depends on the later booking steps being available and completed. No response or availability is guaranteed.

Browse a profile or write a broader request

Browse Near to You profiles by service and location if you already know the kind of professional you want. Alternatively, post an RFQ to describe the job to matching approved providers. Profile listing approval is not a personal vetting guarantee: independently discuss experience, references and practical fit before selecting someone. Use the private-dining route instead when the primary outcome is a hosted dinner rather than prepared meals to store.

Keep dietary decisions in the right place

Describe ordinary menu preferences and ask a provider about ingredients and cross-contact procedures directly. Do not put diagnoses, medical records or prescribed nutrient targets in an RFQ; Near to You is not a clinical nutrition service, and this flow does not share your NutriLens nutrition data with a provider. For allergies or medically necessary diets, verify ingredients and procedures directly and follow your care team's advice.

Frequently asked questions

Does weekly meal prep automatically repeat?

No. The weekly meal prep template requests one visit. A recurrence note expresses a preference only; any later visit needs its own arrangement.

Will the cook bring ingredients and containers?

Not by default. Set a grocery preference in the request, list any equipment or containers you can provide, and confirm what the provider's estimate includes.

Is a posted request a booked appointment?

No. An RFQ invites nonbinding responses. Selecting one creates a booking request; a final quote and subsequent confirmation steps are separate.

Can I send my medical diet information through Near to You?

Do not include private health information in a public RFQ. Near to You does not transfer your nutrition app data to providers or arrange medical nutrition plans.
